I am a single laid off mom of two who has had a world of things that have gone wrong in the past year or so.

Anyway, my daughter woke up for school and ate her cereal. With her first bite she screamed she was in a lot of pain. She is horrified to go to the dentist because the last one pulled her wrong tooth, so she is in pain and very scared. I looked in the phone book and saw that they did walk ins and emergency visits, so I called at 7 am to see when they opened. Someone answered and said they had an opening at 8:00, so we got her dressed and headed to the office. We were seen pretty quickly. Her x-rays were done and we went back to another room. The dentist Dr. Ryan came in and was very calm. He explained everything to me and my daughter (she's 9 so she likes to know what's going on). He joked with her and made her feel calm and comfortable. The hygienist came in and did a cleaning; much to my daughter's surprise it was painless! I asked if she could get the filling that day and they didn't know if she could be fit in. We went and talked with the financial services lady. Of course, I am unemployed and I don't have the best credit (due to young mistakes), so I didn't qualify for the payment option and unfortunately everything needed to be saved up for so we decided I would make the appointment a week from today when I got paid. We got up from our chairs and started to leave when Dr. Ryan asked us the outcome and I explained a little and he took my daughter back and put a temp filling in so that she wouldn't be in pain. He said she couldn't leave here with the pain she had when she came in. Thanks to Dr. Ryan my daughter's tooth feels better, she's not afraid of the dentist anymore, and I won't have to fight to take her in next week for the permanent filling. That makes this mom and kiddo smile smile smile! THANKS!
